This is a scenery of the German island Wangerooge including the airport EDWG.

Wangerooge
==========

Wangerooge is one of the German "Eastern Frisian Islands", located at the
German North Sea along the coast between Emden and Wilhelmshaven. There are a
small airport, 3 lighthouses, a light railway, a harbour and some things more.
There are some smaller islands nearby. In the west there is the island
Spiekeroog. It is the only island without airport. In the east there are the
small islands Minsener Oog and Mellum. They are not really islands, just very
small sand islands with no people living there.

Scenery
========

All I've described above I have tried to put into this little scenery:

  - detailed landscape with strand, sand dunes, lakes ...

  - airport EDWG

  - lighthouses and nautical beacons

  - railway tracks

  - harbours

  - many various ships

  - many other details as there are the "Alte Signalstelle", wind power plants,
    breakwaters, radar towers and much more.

To design the island I used topographical charts. Most of the objects as there
are buildings, towers, ships and so on were created new, using fotos in several
books, picture postcards, and much fotos nice people sent to me (I don't know
Wangerooge myself).

Some of the new objects were created using the commercial tools FLIGHTSHOP
and PREFAB. For all other work only freeware tools were used.

Technical Information / Installation
====================================

This scenery is quite dense. You can get higher frame rates by reducing the
complexity and disable options like shadows.

You need the  AIRPORT-Textures (TXTUR202.ZIP) and VOD-Textures (VODTEX27.ZIP)
These textures are not included, you can download them at almost every popular
FS-Site.

The ZIP-Archive contents;

  Scenery Files   Extension BGL
  Texture Files Extension R8, xAF, PAT
  README.TXT      Info file in English
  LIESMICH.TXT    Info file in German
  EDWG2K.GIF Thumbnail picture (for Internet upload)
  FILE_ID.DIZ Short info (for Internet upload)

Installation:

  - Delete old version EDWG if installed

  - create a folder, for example  D:\FS2000\SCENEDB\EDWG

  - Extract all files to D:\FS2000\SCENEDB\EDWG

  - now you should have the following structure:

    D:\
       \FS2000
           \SCENEDB
                \EDWG
                     \SCENERY
                     \TEXTURE

  - start FS2000

  - add the scenery via the scenery library in FS2000, activate
    it as "local".

  - the scenery must be layered ABOVE Europe
    that means it must be set to a higher priority

Credits
=======

Many thanks to "Ullifax" from Wangerooge, Manfred Hame, Uwe Gorzynski,
Roland Roelz and Dietrich Steffens, who sent me charts and a lot of fotos
and so made it possible for me to create this scenery. Many thanks to the
designers of the following objects, tools and programs too:

Objects:

  - The wind power plants come from Robert Waszkiewicz (WTRBHQV1)

  - most of the static aircraft come from PIPERAPI by Philip Cook,
    some I have converted using M98toB30 by Trevor de Stigter. The small
    seaplane of the German Coast Guard is a repaint of Captain Slug's nice
    Lake LA-250 Renegade. (The original aircraft at EDWG Wangerooge is a
    Lake Buccaneer, an older, not so powerful version).

Scenery and object design programs und tools:

  - AIRPORT 2.10 by Pascal Meziat, Brian McWilliams, Tom Hiscox

  - SCASM 2.50 by Manfred Moldenhauer

  - VOD 2.7 and 3.0 by Rafael Garcia Sanchez

  - DX2AFP 1.0 by Errol Alpay

  - REPAINT by Jed Smith

amongst some more smaller tools and API- and FAB-Objects. A big thankyou to all
the authors. This scenery wouldn't have been possible without these tools.

All of these tools are copyright of the respective author.
